📢 Announcing our new Soft Plastic Recycling Program! ♻️
We're excited to launch a new program to help our community recycle soft plastics and make a positive impact on the environment. Together, we can divert these materials from landfills and give them a new life!
What are soft plastics?
Soft plastics are any plastic bags or film that can be stretched. They often get tangled in recycling equipment, which is why they are not accepted in most curbside programs. This new initiative provides a safe and effective way to recycle them and turn them into usable equipment for our community, like park benches or garbage cans.
What you can recycle:
Grocery, retail, and bread bags
Case overwrap (e.g., plastic around a case of water bottles)
Dry cleaning bags
Newspaper sleeves
Ziploc and other resealable food storage bags
Bubble wrap and plastic shipping envelopes
Cereal box liners
Important: Please ensure all plastic is clean, dry, and free of food residue.
What you CANNOT recycle:
Frozen food bags
Candy bar or chip bags
Pre-washed salad mix bags
Degradable/compostable bags
How to participate:
Simply collect your clean and dry soft plastics and drop them off at the Downtown/LINK Booth at the Downtown Farmer’s Market.
