Teacher Statement:

The artworks on display have been accumulated over a nearly decade-long period, from 2016 to the present. This exhibition represents a mere sample of the visual art and design excellence of first-level Visual Art programs at Thompson Rivers University. These works are specifically from the 2D foundations classes at TRU (VISA 1010 2D Creative Design and VISA 1020 2D Foundation 2). Drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, collage, cyanotype, sculpture, artificial intelligence, and digital media are just a few of the forms and considerations that are demonstrated in these projects.
Thank you to my students (past and present) for your dedication to excellence, creative explorations, and hard work. It has been an absolute pleasure to instruct so many exceptional students over the past decade. Additionally, I would like to thank Diego Cruz for curating this exhibition in such a sophisticated and thoughtful manner.
