Tire Recycling

Please Join Us for the Kalkaska County Tire Recycling Event!

Located at the former Kalkaska County Recycle Center, 904 Island Lake Rd, Kalkaska, MI 49646, for a free tire disposal opportunity exclusively for Kalkaska County residents. Each household may bring up to 12 tires at no charge—just be sure to bring proof of residency.

Tires will be accepted until the semi-trailers are full, so plan ahead! If you’d like to bring more than 12 tires, please contact KCD staff (231-258-3307) to make arrangements. It will be based on space within the semi-trailer and discretion of staff on how many additional tires per household we can accept.

Please note: NO COMMERCIAL or HEAVY EQUIPMENT TIRES, and we CANNOT accept any tires LARGER THAN 4 feet tall or 12 inches wide.
