Class description:
Broccoli, cabbage, kohlrabi, Brussels sprouts and kale taste amazing after a frost which helps create extra sugars in the plants. It is easy to forget these wonderful fall crops during the heat of the summer, so this is your opportunity to start them. This is also a great time to start them outside - no lights or heat mats needed, and fall crops typically have less pests. Late June/ early July is also a prime time to start carrots and beets as cold temperatures make these root crops extra sweet.

We will be learning about extending your growing season into fall with a little bit of summer prep and then doing a hands-on workshop with several things for you to take home.
