From Form to Fire - Piano recital

This recital traces the evolving dialogue between structure and expression in piano music, spanning over 150 years of compositional thought.

We begin with J.S. Bach’s Prelude and Fugue in C Minor (BWV 871), where architectural clarity and contrapuntal mastery create emotional tension within tightly woven lines. From this foundation, we enter the late style of Beethoven, whose Sonata Op. 110 transcends classical form to explore vulnerability, struggle, and ultimately, spiritual renewal.

With Chopin’s Études Op. 25 Nos. 1 and 10, the piano becomes both a poetic and virtuosic voice refining technical studies into profound expressions of color and motion. Finally, we arrive at Scriabin’s Fantasy in B Minor, a single-movement odyssey where form dissolves into dreamlike intensity, hinting at the mystical and modernist edges of 20th century music.

Together, these works reflect the timeless tension between control and freedom how form becomes a vessel for ever deeper emotional and spiritual expression.
