GRASP – Demo Lab Presentation
By Lindon Shimizu / MU&MA Studio
GRASP is a choreographic research project that celebrates plural, diverse bodies through a fleshy and poetic language of movement. Emerging from a hybrid of cultural, social and somatic influences, the work draws on Brazilian Antropofagia, Judo, Playfight and Body-Mind Centering® to develop a dance vocabulary that affirms movement, touch, organ-muscularity, sounding and joy as radical communal acts.
We invite you into a Lab demo, a living studio where movement is a form of listening, grasping and transforming. GRASP explores how bodily practices of resistance, care and vitality can be shared toward a collective caring and re-connection.
The lab is part of a multi-year investigation into embodied interdependence and the political power of physical presence.
