Torch Fired Enamel Earrings Workshops

Create enamel earrings with Petersburg, Alaska based artist Ashley Lohr!

In this workshop, participants will learn how to create one-of-a-kind enamel pieces using Thompson powder enamel sifted onto pre-cut copper blanks. We will discuss enamel consistency, application, prepping, cleaning, stenciling, ombre and sgraffito techniques. This ancient craft of enameling allows for the unique addition of glass color to metal designs by adding heat between 1300* F to 1500*F.

Ashley has over 15 years of experience teaching jewelry and will demonstrate each step along with help participants one-on-one. All materials are included, which includes a handheld butane torch.

Who should register?
Recommended ages 16+
Zero art skills required / all levels of skill are welcome
Workshop participants will:
Have fun learning a new creative skill
Walk out wearing your handcrafted enamel earrings
