Peaceful Forest Taiko Drumming, with opening music from Brooke and Scott

Hi Friends,

Brooke and I will be opening for Peaceful Forest, a taiko drum playing family from Japan. Peaceful Forest brings powerful, heartfelt drumming, energy, and joy to people of all ages. Admission is free, though donations will be accepted to help with Peaceful Forest’s travel expenses. Please help us give them a warm Juneau welcome.

Takumi Kato is a grand prize winner of an international taiko drumming competition in Japan. He has performed for the former Prime Minister of Japan, as well as Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress. Now, he performs together with his three children as the group Peaceful Forest.

Their dream is to complete 1,000 taiko performances in all 50 U.S. states. Since beginning this journey in October 2022, they have already completed over 470 performances across 36 states—bringing powerful, heartfelt drumming, energy, and joy to people of all ages.
