A Protest and School Supply Drive
📢 OUR MESSAGE:
We are done being sacrificed for billionaires.
Our families come first—not billionaires, not authoritarians, and not corrupt politicians. Americans demand an end to policies that harm children, seniors, and our families. We reject the Administration's actions that have gutted essential programs like Medicaid, FEMA, food stamps, school lunches, and more, all so a handful of billionaires can receive tax giveaways. We also stand in solidarity with, and in defense of, immigrant families and those being detained, deported, or disappeared under inhumane policies.
We are coming together to say in unity: our families come first.
Every Family Matters. Every voice counts.
Help us stand to defend the rights and dignity of all.
🖍 SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY:
In the face of a cruel budget that strips resources from families and schools, we are stepping up to support our community and give every child a fair start this school year. Indivisible Joplin will be collecting school supplies for the upcoming school year (K-12) to donate to local school districts. Drop-offs can be made in the parking lot at the rally. Thank you for your generous participation!
☮️ COMMITMENT TO NONVIOLENCE:
A core principle behind all Families First events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events.
Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. If you see any safety concerns, please locate a volunteer in a yellow vest. In the case of an emergency, dial 9-1-1.
