Paleontology Summer Camp

Only at Paleo Camp can children ages 6-12 visit an active fossil dig site and have the opportunity to dig daily to search for the next great fossil find! Get a behind-the-scenes tour of the fossil site preparatory lab and collections room. Additional activities include deeper exploration of geosciences life sciences and general sciences.

Some exciting opportunities during this camp include:

- Wet screen micro-fossils

- Plaster casting of a fossil

- Fossil or Fake game

- Take a deep dive into some of the species found at Gray Fossil Site

- Examine rocks & minerals with the Moh's hardness scale

Times:

Drop-off: 9:00-9:15am

Early drop-off is available between 8:00am-9:00am for $50 for the week.

Pick-up: 4:30-4:45pm

Late pick-up is available between 4:30 and 5:30 pm. HODC has received grant funding from GSK to support extended programming for 2025 summer camps and therefore late pick-up is at no cost this year. Space is limited. GSK's Be a Health Scientist! program invites children to take the role of scientists and engineers as they investigate problems related to human health and well-being.

HODC Members: $250

Non-Members: $275

Campers MUST be 6 years old by June 1 and no older than 12 years old on July 30
