NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE

The City of Jonesboro has tentatively adopted a 2025 millage rate which will require an increase in property tax by 91.55 percent.

All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on the tax increase to be held at the Jonesboro City Center(City Hall), 1859 City Center Way, Jonesboro GA 30236, on Monday, August 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. & 6:00 p.m.

Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at the Jonesboro City Center (City Hall), 1859 City Center Way, Jonesboro GA 30236, on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.

This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 15.000 mills, an increase of 0.669 mills. Without this tentative increase, the millage rate will be no more than 7.831 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $200,000 is approximately $501.83 and the proposed tax increase for a non-homestead
property with a fair market value of $650,000 is approximately $1,863.94.
