Join us for Compassion Camp – our spin on VBS!
Compassion Camp: Be kind. Be Loved. Be you. is the curriculum we've chosen for VBS this summer.
Kiddos will explore what it means to have compassion for others, ourselves and the world. It's for pre-K4 through 6th grade and is engaging and fun for all!
Throughout the week, we'll explore the following Bible stories on our way to learning how to practice compassion in our daily lives:
• Compassion at the Table: Luke 15:11-35
•Compassion to the Neighbor: Mark 2:1-12
•Compassion for Myself: Mark 12:28-31/Deut. 6
•Compassion Along the Way: Ruth 1:1-22
•Compassion with the World: Leviticus 25
Each day features:
Compassion in Action: Each day, kiddos will participate in activities that help them think creatively about sharing compassion and love. These simple, small, tangible acts help kids express God's deep compassion for each other, themselves and the world.
Engaging Bible Story: A kid-friendly paraphrase of the Bible provides opportunities for imagining, wondering and connecting deeply within the stories.
Fun Music: We will sing, dance, move and play to both original music written for each theme as well as popular music.
Movement & Play: Physical engagement connects our minds, bodies and spirits with God. Through movement and play, kiddos will have fun, experience Bible stories in a physical way.
Opportunities to Create: Crafts and opportunities for creative expression give all kiddos tangible ways to experience the creativity of the Creator in themselves.
Snack
We will also send kiddos home each day with a card which can be used by families to reflect and discuss their kids' experiences and lessons learned to help deepen their love of God as well as their compassion.
