This will be a meet and greet type of event at the old Joliet prison, come hangout and get your pictures with your sling infront of the prison!
- There will be self guided tours avaliable for purchase from the prison office on site for $22 or $11 for children, tours can be anywhere between 1-1.5 hours long with tons of photo oppturnities!
ALL TOURS ARE OPTIONAL AND NOT REQUIRED TO ATTEND!

Charles “Lucky Chucky” Hojnacki was once incarcerated at the Joliet Correctional Center, (now known as the Old Joliet Prison Historic Site). Like many who were once incarcerated, Hojnacki worked hard to turn his life following a youth defined by gang activity, arrests and incarceration. Following a near-death experience in drug deal gone bad, he vowed not only to never return to prison, but to keep others from returning.
Following his own educational path to become a certified machinist, Hojnacki began encouraging others – especially young offenders - to break their own cycles by embarking on GED courses and vocational training. As a result of his efforts to assist fellow incarcerated individuals with employment opportunities, he received an Individual Achievement Award from the State of Illinois.
Today, “Lucky Chucky” has over one million followers on Tik Tok, and has used his platform as a television star on programs such as A&E “60 Days In” and status as a visible social media influencer to shine a light on the American prison system to encourage humane conditions and dignified treatment of incarcerated individuals, in addition to increased workforce and economic opportunities for the formerly incarcerated. Hojnacki expresses his desire for his experiences to act as a cautionary tale, particularly for at-risk youths. He will soon be featured on the HBO Max program, “Hustlers, Gamblers & Crooks” (LC, can we announce this or is it embargoed?)
In his signature raw, no-holds-barred style, Lucky Chucky is offering an exclusive limited series of tours of the Prison to recount his experiences while incarcerated. He also generously agreed that the proceeds from these tours will benefit the work of the Joliet Area Historical Museum to restore the Old Joliet Prison as a site of education and conscience
