Thorsten Marbach: "Where is AI taking us?"

We find ourselves on an unprecedented journey. Artificial intelligence is reshaping how we work, learn, create and connect – raising profound questions about human agency, purpose and identity.

The first part of this talk will attempt to better understand AI, particularly as we progress from generative AI to agentic AI. The second part then asks the hard questions of where we are going and whether we want to go there. Are we using it right? What choices can we make?

Thorsten Marbach co-leads the South African work of L'Abri Fellowship and lectures at the Johannesburg Bible College. By education he is an engineer and a theologian – and will be wearing both hats.
