The 17th Wakayama International Music Festival

The Wakayama Music and International Competition will hold a music competition on September 9th and 10th, 2023, at the Wakayama City Hall in Japan. The competition will be divided into two areas: the main hall and the smaller hall. Contestants must arrive early at the competition venue to complete registration and tuning preparations. The competition will begin at 9:50 am and end at 5:00 pm. The award ceremony will take place at 6:30 pm on the second day. The competition will provide pedal assists for piano participants, and staff will assist with piano pedals, cello chairs, and anti-slip mats. No warm-up practice rooms will be provided at the competition venue. The judging panel will consist of 3 to 6 professionals, and the scoring criteria will include stage presence, demeanor, posture, technique, musical style, musical expression, and accompaniment coordination. The competition will determine awards based on scores, and outstanding performers will be selected to perform as guest artists at the music festival concert the next day. Each participant will receive the Wakayama City Hall / International Music Festival Honorary Certificate.
