Fern Creek Community Center 70th Anniversary Rededication and Open House

The Fern Creek Community Association and Chamber of Commerce (FCCACC) will hold an event on Wednesday August 6 at noon to “rededicate” the Fern Creek Community Center on its 70th anniversary and to show off the building. The ceremony will be followed by an Open House until 2:00 p.m. to let everyone see the recent renovations of the building, thanks to funding from the state of Kentucky.
Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg, Metrol Councilman Kevin Bratcher, former Metro Councilman Robin Engel, incoming Fern Creek Fire Department Chief Scott Evans, and LMPD Officer Tonya "Rocky" Landry are among those scheduled to attend.
The Fern Creek Community Center has been home to the Fern Creek Fire Department, several iterations of the Fern Creek Library (both public and community), many civic and community groups (like the FCCACC, Fern Creek Woman’s Club, and the Fern Creek Lions Club), businesses, the Fern Creek Highview United Ministries and even a few churches before they built their own buildings.
The following groups will have have information tables during the Open House:

* The Friends of the Fern Creek Library
* The Fern Creek Community Association and Chamber of Commerce
* The Fern Creek Fire Department
* The Fern Creek Lions Club
Light refreshments will be served.
