Public Safety Training: Patrol Rifle Instructor School

**Prerequisite:** Must already be a current law enforcement firearms instructor to attend.
**Course Overview:**
Public Safety Training proudly offers this intensive 3-day Patrol Rifle Instructor School, designed for senior personnel responsible for training officers in the effective and responsible use of rifles and carbines. Participants will gain expertise in both foundational and advanced instructional strategies to enhance their teaching effectiveness in both classroom and range settings. The course emphasizes real-world application, preparing trainers to develop comprehensive firearm programs and deliver engaging, practical training tailored to the demands of modern law enforcement.
Course Outcomes:
Participants will learn to:
1. Review responsibilities of firearms instructors.
2. Evaluate course and target design and selection.
3. Develop a cohesive agency patrol rifle program.
4. Create a realistic patrol rifle training program.
5. Train others on essential safety rules and equipment.
6. Implement low light/laser techniques in training.
7. Integrate optics effectively in patrol rifle use.
8. Conduct shooting exercises under various conditions.
9. Train others to fire on the move at moving targets.
10. Utilize Relative Position Drills in training scenarios.
11. Execute Force-on-Force Munitions training.
12. Manage Patrol Rifle handling during subject control.
13. Pass a written test with a score of 80% or better.
14. Achieve a 100% score on a standard course of fire.
### Required Equipment:
- **Firearms:**
- Pistol and Patrol Rifle (with three magazines for each)
- **Other Equipment:**
- Duty belt (or tactical vest) with all issued gear
- Body armor
- Flashlight
- Handcuffs with key
- Hydration system or water bottle
Recommended Attire:
Participants should come prepared to train in all weather conditions and wear clothing suitable for training, similar to garments worn while on duty. Wraparound eye protection and ear protection are mandatory during live-fire training. Brimmed hats are also recommended for outdoor sessions.
