You and your child will work together on engaging activities, all centered on the fascinating world of bats:
Bat Fact Scavenger Hunt: Discover cool, real-world facts about these nocturnal flyers.
Wing Span Challenge: See how your wingspan measures up to some of the world's biggest bats!
Flapping Bat Project: Engineer a paper-and-string bat that flaps its wings when you pull the string!
Every team will get to take home their working Flapping Bat and their Bat Tessellation artwork! It’s a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon, collaborate as a family, and learn something new.
Please note, this event starts before the mall is open. Please park on the HyVee side of the mall between Ross and the Car Wash. Enter at the door nearest WiiPro. All doors will be locked, but we will have someone at the door to let you in about 5 minutes before class starts. If you have any questions, just call (573) 645-0800.
Designed for children aged 6–9 (younger siblings aged 4-5 are welcome to join the team).
$12 per parent/child team, $16 for a team with 2 children
