The Journey of Bihars Folk Art- a talk show

This talk show, “ The journey of Bihar’s Folk Art” is a special talk show that explores the richness and vibrant traditions of folk art from Bihar. It brings together some of Bihar’s most esteemed folk artists and experts to share their experiences, insights and stories.

Speaker

1. Padma Shri Baua Devi - a celebrated Mithila (Madhubani) artist known for her deep connection to traditional themes.

2. ⁠Padma Shri Dulari Devi - a leading Mithila (Madhubani) Artist, who has brought folk art to the global stage.

3. ⁠Padma Shri Ashok Kumar Biswas - a master artist in Tikuli art who keeping this traditional art form alive.

4. ⁠Shri Ashok Kumar Sinha - Additional Director of Bihar Museum

5. ⁠Dr. Manoj Tailor - Associate Professor and Head, Department of Visual Art, Banasthali Vidyapith  

The session will be moderated by Ms. Preeta Kuhad Balia, a well known art critic. 

This talk is designed for artists, students, critics, and all those who are interested in art. It offers an opportunity to learn directly from traditional artists, understand the history  behind Bihar’s folk art, and see how it continues to grow in today’s world.
