A Journey of Classical Music in Hindi Film Songs (1931 – 2024)
This interactive audio-visual presentation explores the evolution of classical music in Hindi film songs from the first talkie film Aalam Aara (1931) to contemporary releases like Gangubai Kathiawadi, Qala, and the series Heeramandi (2023-2024).
Drawing from his extensive research on over 20,000 songs across 6,200 films, Dr. K.L. Pandey will discuss the Raag analysis of selected compositions, highlighting 10 prominent Raagas and showcasing popular songs based on them. Participants will be encouraged to sing along to familiar tunes, answer quiz questions, and win token gifts, making the session engaging and interactive.
