Join us at Happy Medium with poets and authors Andrea LeDew and Phoebe Mullis.
Andrea LeDew is a lawyer by training, a former special needs homeschool mom by necessity, and a lover of gardens and travel by nature. She is currently writing a novel where a young woman with intellectual disabilities is forced to defend her beautiful garden group home against the forces of greed and development, while chasing down the mysterious history of a stained glass window and trying to achieve a sense of belonging and purpose in a world which so often rejects her. The book is near completion. A collection of Andrea’s poems is also in the offing.
Andrea’s site, named For Random Learning Comes because of the random nature of learning, contains over five hundred poems, essays and short stories. Andrea lives in Jacksonville, FL. The following poems have been published elsewhere: Moss Gossamer “August,” Border Beats “Choice,” Regency Reflections “Us Maids,” and Florida Writer’s Association (FWA) 2023 Collection: Secrets “Narrow.”
Phoebe Mullis, a second-generation Jacksonville native and proud Filipino, lives and works in Downtown Jacksonville. She holds a B.S. in Communication with a focus in Public Relations and a Creative Writing minor from the University of North Florida. Prior to UNF, she studied at Florida State College at Jacksonville, where she was selected for a Writers Retreat Workshop. Phoebe’s writing interests include poetry, literary fiction, and short stories. She is currently working on her first chapbook, Modern Babae. This collection of poems are from a chapbook manuscript and at their core are an expression of self discovery and embracing her Filipina heritage.
