INCREASING ACCESSIBILITY AND ENGAGEMENT THROUGH ADAPTED BOOKS

July 28, 2025.
1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Hosted by PEPSA, CARD-JAX and FDLRS-MDC.

Presenters: Jessica Callaghan, M.Ed.
Target Audience: Teachers, Instructional Coaches, Related Service Providers, Parents.

This hands-on professional development will walk participants through the process of adapting books to allow students to engage more independently with content. Participants will explore how to create workarounds for a variety of barriers to independent reading and then adapt a book to increase accessibility. Participants will leave the training with materials necessary to implement the training with other books in their classrooms.

Location: UF Neurodevelopmental Pediatric Center, 6271 St. Augustine Rd., Suite 1, JAX, FL 32217.

Please bring a charged laptop.
