Our speaker is Captain Mark Rinaman
The s/v Amara Zee is a one-of-a-kind floating theater ship, home to the Caravan Stage Company, an international nonprofit troupe that blends sailing and performing arts. Modeled after a traditional Thames River sailing barge, the 90-foot vessel travels to waterfront communities, transforming harbors into open-air stages for productions that weave music, acrobatics, and social themes into an unforgettable experience.
At the helm is Captain Mark Rinaman, President of the National Caravan Stage Company, Inc. Based in Jacksonville, Florida, Rinaman oversees both the vessel and the organization’s operations. Under his leadership, the Amara Zee continues its mission of combining maritime adventure with innovative performing arts, recently bringing the ship to the St. Johns River and the Palatka City Dock.
Together, Capt. Rinaman and the Amara Zee embody a rare fusion of seamanship, artistry, and community engagement—sailing not just as a means of travel, but as a stage for imagination.
