UN Resolution on Palestine: Gaza's Humanitarian Crisis and International Response

The Youth Association of Pakistan in Collaboration with the Law Department of Hazara University is organizing a one-day conference focused on the topic of UN Resolution on Palestine: Gaza's Humanitarian Crisis and International Response on 20th May 2025.
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza, exacerbated by an ongoing blockade and recurring conflicts, has left over 2 million Palestinians facing severe shortages of food, water, electricity, and medical supplies. The UN has issued numerous resolutions calling for ceasefires and humanitarian access, but enforcement remains challenging due to political divisions, especially within the UN Security Council. Gaza's healthcare system is overwhelmed, and thousands have been displaced, living in overcrowded refugee camps. The UN's humanitarian agencies, like UNRWA, have been providing critical aid, but logistical challenges persist. The international community, particularly through the UN, has called for the protection of civilians and adherence to international law. However, the political complexities of the region hinder swift action and resolution. This note aims to explore the effectiveness of UN resolutions, the political obstacles, and the role of international actors in alleviating the Gaza crisis.
