Get ready for a full night of swing dancing, live jazz, and student-powered fun at College Night at Atomic Ballroom—presented by Swing Dance @ UCI! Whether you’re an absolute beginner or a seasoned dancer, this event is designed to bring students, alumni, and the local dance community together for an unforgettable night of movement, music, and connection.

Evening Schedule:
6:15 PM – 8:30 PM:
Arrive early and dive into our progressive swing dance classes, designed to help you build confidence on the dance floor. Learn fundamental Lindy Hop steps, footwork, and partner connection with guidance from friendly, experienced instructors. No partner or experience needed—just come ready to learn and have fun!
7:45 PM – 8:30 PM:
Join our 45-minute Intro-to-Swing class, perfect for total beginners. This class is upbeat, easy to follow, and designed to get you social-dance-ready.
8:30 PM – Late:
The social dancing begins! We’ll start with a high-energy DJ set to get your feet moving, followed by a full night of live swing jazz from The Bugs Quintet—a favorite of SoCal dancers for their toe-tapping rhythms and vintage flair.
9:00 PM:
The Bugs Quintet hits the stage! Dance to a full set of live music that’s impossible to sit still to. Their upbeat sound is perfect for Lindy Hop, Collegiate Shag, Balboa, and all your favorite swing styles.
All Night Long:
Informal Mix-and-Match Contest: Enter just for fun! You’ll be randomly paired with a partner and have a chance to win fun, dance-friendly prizes. No pressure—just a chance to laugh, move, and maybe discover your new favorite dance partner.
Potluck Table: Bring a snack or dish to share and enjoy a casual spread of student-made treats and crowd favorites.
Show Your School Spirit: Wear your college colors and represent your campus pride. Alumni are more than welcome—this is your chance to relive your swing club days!
