Join us for the 3rd Annual First Cast Youth Fishing Seminar, the official kick-off to the Summer Solstice Music & Arts Festival, on June 21, 2025, from 9 AM to 11:30 AM at the Ironton Riverfront. This all-inclusive event is geared towards getting children in the community hooked on fishing and teaching the importance of aquatic stewardship.
No fishing experience is necessary. There will be plenty of equipment available, including rods, reels, tackle, and bait. Feel free to bring your gear if you have it.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times – safety first!
Participants over 16 will need a fishing license.
This free community event is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Union Sportsman Alliance. Make plans to stay after the fishing event to enjoy live local music, artists, artisans, food trucks, and interactive art activities beginning at noon. It’s going to be a great day on the beautiful Ironton Riverfront!
If you're interested in attending or have any questions about getting involved, please contact our program coordinator, James Gordon at (740) 547-9319. We can't wait to see you there for a fun-filled morning of fishing, learning, and community! 🎣🌞
