Parenting in Today's World

As part of its ongoing Community Workshop Series, McGregor Presbyterian Church will be offering a workshop on Parenting in Today’s World on Thursday, May 1. This workshop is for parents, grandparents, or anyone who wants to improve their relationship skills with the children/youth (preschool, elementary, high school, college) of today. Topics will include: *How to Talk with Children/Youth and be an Active Listener, *Dealing with Anxiety in Today’s Children/Youth, *Helping Children/Youth Deal with the Impact of Social Media, and *Common Complaints of Children/Youth Regarding Parents, Grandparents or Other Caregivers. The presenter for this workshop will be Ms. Susan Yelverton, MSW, LISW, Live Oak Counseling Center, Columbia, SC.

The workshop will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the church located at 6505 St. Andrews Rd., Columbia, and is open to the public. There is no admission fee, but preregistration is required.
