Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Albany Great Danes

Football is back!

The Iowa Hawkeyes will begin their 2025 football season against the University of Albany Great Danes, marking their first meeting. UAlbany, part of the Coastal Athletic Association (FCS), was close to an FCS national title in 2023 but has since faced difficulties. Iowa is expected to start Mark Gronowski, a transfer quarterback from South Dakota State, who brings improved passing, dual-threat skills, and leadership, making Iowa favored to win the game.

This football season, the Columbia Iowa Club is going to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Columbia, SC by collecting Pop Tabs. Collect the aluminum tabs off your beverage and soup cans and bring them to our gamewatches. We will collect them all season long and then donate the pop tabs to our local Ronald McDonald House Charities, so they can recycle them in exchange for money. All proceeds from this program benefit their mission. The power of individuals performing small acts of charity is amazing!

We'll have a swag drawing for some Hawkeye gear at the game watch, so come out and get your name in for it.
