Explore the powerful stories behind the Manapōuri hydro project with historian Rosemary Baird, author of The Middle of Nowhere: Stories of Working on the Manapōuri Hydro Project.

Rosemary will share stories from her interviews on the project and reflect on what it was like to live and work in one of Aotearoa’s most remote hydro towns. The event is supported by the Southland Oral History Project and includes archival materials on display.
