Since the inception of SETI in 1984 scientists have been searching for proof of extraterrestrial intelligent life. Over the last forty years leaps in technology have transformed our ability to scan the skies so we can get closer to finding real evidence using new techniques and telescopes. What have scientists found and how close are we to that goal? This presentation will explore the most intriguing findings so far, how close scientists are to detecting undeniable proof of intelligent life, and if they find it, what might that mean for humanity’s place in the cosmos.
2. Secrets of Mars with Lee Paqui
For decades the public has been told that Mars is barren, dry, airless and dead, and NASA has given us the photos to prove it. But seeing is not always believing, and NASA doesn’t always tell the truth. This presentation by Lee will explore the signs of life on Mars, how and why NASA covers up those signs, and how a small band of scientists is trying to reveal the truth. There are also signs that something else has been on Mars, and it has nothing to do with those pesky pyramids. Could Mars be home to a hidden chapter of solar system history — one we were never meant to uncover?
