🎤 About Sam Childers
A former outlaw biker, drug addict, and member of the Highwaymen Motorcycle Club, Sam experienced a radical transformation in the early 1990s, surrendering his life to Christ! Following a harrowing mission trip where he discovered the body of a child in South Sudan, Sam vowed to dedicate his life to protecting children from war-zone atrocities. He founded Angels of East Africa, establishing orphanages in Sudan, Uganda, and Ethiopia. Today, the organization cares for hundreds of children, providing shelter, education, and essential support. His story inspired the 2011 biopic Machine Gun Preacher (starring Gerard Butler), chronicling his journey from biker to international humanitarian
🌍 Ongoing Mission: Sam continues frontline work rescuing children from militants in Congo—including those kidnapped by the LRA and even ISIS-affiliated groups—serving over 10,000 meals daily and facing down funding and security challenges to keep his orphanages running
