Class Description:
Watercolor is wild and even elusive. You must learn to work with it rather than try (and fail) to control it. If you embrace this aspect of watercolor, your watercolor paintings will improve dramatically and quickly. Moreso, you’ll come to enjoy watercolor in such a way that it will bring you back to the palette again and again.
Key to successfully working with watercolor is composition. Without a strong composition, all the little idiosyncrasies of watercolor will wreck your vision. With a strong composition, those idiosyncrasies will help build your vision.
How is this done, though? What makes a good composition? For this, we have the principles and elements of two dimensional design.
This class will walk you through both design principles and design elements, and demonstrate why they matter, and how they matter, with a special focus on watercolor.

About Jon Cooper:
Born in Wyoming. Lives and works in Pennsylvania with his rad wife of 20 years, four kiddos, and two holier-than-thou cats.
Art is the most honest thing I can do. I came very late to the visual arts, having spent somewhere around 20 odd years in higher education. I didn't learn to draw until I was in my late 30's; in my early 40's I realized that I was only happy when I was making art, and it's all I wanted to do. I love art: talking about it, looking at it, thinking about it, and especially making and sharing it. And I'm a firm believer that anyone can make art that is deep, personal, and beautiful.
