Michael Cairns Wetland Dedication

In honor of the wetlands created by Michael Cairns and many other participants, you are invited to join us in celebrating the unveiling of two educational signs along the trail in front of these wetlands.

Festivities begin in the sports fields parking lot on Deann Drive, with thanks to our generous sponsors: the City of Independence (which owns the land), the Luckiamute Watershed Council, and the many incredible individuals who have supported this ongoing project.
The morning kicks off with a free ribbon cutting at 10 a.m., led by Mayor Kate and other special guests. Afterward, enjoy brief remarks, a guided tour of the wetland and signs, and a group walk or ride to Divine Distillery for a brunch/lunch after party.
