Ask the Expert: Q&A with Kelly Marks
Join us for an evening of “Ask Me Anything” with Kelly Marks. Founder of Intelligent Horsemanship and specialist in understanding horse psychology, and finding workable solutions to benefit both horses and humans.
Kelly and the Intelligent Horsemanship team teach far more than human and horse communication skills. Our sympathetic techniques, commonly referred to as ‘horse whispering’ are centred around working with the horse psychology to establish effective communication. We can help tackle all of your horse behavioural challenges; common questions we are asked include; ‘How can I improve my confidence with my horse?’ ‘Can anyone help me load my horse into a trailer or horsebox?’ and ‘I’d like my horse to be safe and willing’ or ‘What is the most successful way to start my horse?’ (Commonly referred to as ‘horse breaking’).

Sandra Williams is a passionate equestrian educator and the author of 'Loading the Less Easy Horse', and more recently, 'The Mindful Equestrian'. With over 24 years as an Intelligent Horsemanship (IH) Trainer, she brings a wealth of experience to her work. Sandra blends practical training with mindfulness, helping owners build deeper, more conscious connections with their horses through calm, empathetic communication. Recognised as a BHS Unsung Hero, she is known for her grounded, compassionate approach and her ability to gently support horse-human partnerships that may need greater understanding, confidence or connection.
Bridget Colston, IH Trainer since 2010 and she was part of Monty and Kelly’s Tour team for a decade. She has many other strings to her bow including being one of Heather Moffet’s Enlightened Equitation Teachers and is a keen TREC competitor. She hangs out in Suffolk with her three horses, one dog, two cats and two hens!
Emma Sharman, returned to education to study Veterinary Physiotherapy after working as a rehabilitation groom for RSPCA and World Horse Welfare. Now running her own business, EJS Vet Physio and Horsemanship in Suffolk, doing canine and equine physio and as an IH Trainer, specialising in confidence building for owner and horse, groundwork and foundation skills for young horses and obstacle clinics.
