Pre-Pepper Fest / Guards in the Yard

The Winter Carnival Royal Guards are again co-hosting the party so thank a guard when you see one of our folks in blue.

There will be sloppy joes, and bratwurst with all the fixings, and beverages provided. You are welcome to bring a dish to share if you’d like to. I will have some yard games for daylight hours and a firepit with smore fixings for the night. Blinky cubes are already in my possession as your party favor. There is a playground next door to entertain young ones. Dogs with well-behaved owners are welcome.

For those interested in camping, the porta-potty will remain in the yard all weekend. Pepper Fest Park is a short 7-minute walk away (if you walk like I do). The Village Inn is just to the north, and 501 Tavern, Starr’s Bar and the Mallalieu Inn are a few blocks to the south. Brown’s Beach is also an easy walk if you fancy a dip in the St. Croix River to cool off. Drive into the side-yard for parking during the Saturday parade (keep cars off 4th Street that morning.)

Come to the yard! Enjoy time with friends old and new. It is a night of conversation and laughter. Invite a friend or two along! It’s hard for me to invite everyone so I appreciate you sharing the invitation with others. This year I hope we can toast King McQ and other great volunteers who have passed from our sight. They remind us to celebrate while we’re here! Live well – laugh often – love much!!
