Needlepoint: A Brief History & Introduction to Stitching

Join us for a needlepoint workshop with Joanna Sommers of The Plum Stitchery!

Take a quiet moment to slow down and get creative. This beginner-friendly session opens with a short talk on the history and evolution of needlepoint, followed by a hands-on workshop introducing the basics of stitching. Artist and designer Joanna Sommers—founder of The Plum Stitchery—discovered needlepoint in her early 30s and hasn’t looked back since. She’ll guide you through stitching your own small piece, sharing her knowledge, techniques, and love for the craft.

No experience necessary. All materials are provided.
Expect to leave with foundational skills, answers to your questions, and a deeper appreciation of this time-honored art!
