The trail committee will hold our regular trail workday - the fourth Sunday of the month. This month, the group will meet at 9am on Sunday July 27th at John Simpson.
We will continue our work from last month - trimming and maintaining trails near John Simpson Park - notably Bear Creek and Dry Gulch. (Note: if you are a mountain biker and would like to be assigned a hike+bike trail, this will be accommodated). We will assign you to a group and an area after we meet at John Simpson.
Tools are available, but if you have your own trail maintenance tools such as loopers or saws, we would appreciate it if you can bring your own.
BRING WATER! It gets extremely hot and humid on the trail.
Wear sunscreen and bug spray. Wear boots, safety glasses and a hat/cap. Wear work gloves. Highly recommend wearing long sleeves and pants if you can stand it as it protects from scratches and poison ivy etc.

Trail Maintenance is inherently risky and injuries do sometimes occur. By participating in this event you agree that you are volunteering at your own risk and assume all responsibility for any injuries sustained.

If you are interested in joining the trail committee, we hold our monthly meetings at 7pm on the second Wednesday of the month. The meeting is at the Bella Mar community room and is open to all residents of Steiner Ranch. Please PM if you need a zoom link. This month we will be looking for a new trail committee chairman, so all interested parties are welcome even if you just want to have a say in the group.
