Ready, Steady, Talk!

About the event:

A playful workshop for families to engage with different communication and language activities with their children. We will share an array of exciting and engaging strategies to support young children’s speech and language development at home.

- Observe and take part in five activities

- Tell us what you think and get some practical ideas

- Take home an activity bag with the workshop resources

Led by Dr Dimi Kaneva (University of Huddersfield) and Claire Pinkos (Speech Stars, Kirklees Success Centre, Kirklees Council) as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2025.

Suitable for families and their children aged 2-7.

When: Saturday 8th November 2025

Times: There are two times slots - 10:30-12:00pm and 1:00-2:30pm.

The venue is fully accessible, including step-free access.

Other info:

Please book a ticket for every person who will be attending, including children.

Families will be able to claim for reasonable public transport travel expenses on the day.
