Celebrate the 10th anniversary Danish Alps State Recreation Area and Kramper Lake, a northeast Nebraska fishing and camping gem, on Saturday, August 16th!
We invite you to join us for a community fishing event and other fun outdoor activities. Visitors can check out the new kayak launch and fish cleaning station, enjoy the hiking trails, and more!
Activity Schedule
9 a.m. – Organized trail ride by the Nebraska Horse Trails Committee
11 a.m. – Brief ceremony
Noon – Lunch: hamburgers, brats, sides & drink ($12 for ages 13+, $8 for ages 12 and under; cash or credit card accepted)
Noon to 3 p.m. – Free fishing activities (below), plus kayaking, boat tours, outdoor cooking demonstrations and more!
1 p.m. – Fish shocking demonstration
Fishing Activities
Free loaner fishing equipment and bait will be available, and instructors will be on hand to help. All participants 16 and older must have a valid Nebraska fishing license. Fishing activities will occur from noon to 3 p.m. and include:
Basic fishing – Learn the basics of fishing, with the help of instructors.
Bowfishing – Learn the basics of bowfishing equipment and techniques using fish targets.
Fly-fishing – Learn the basics of fly-fishing equipment and techniques before fly-fishing.
Kayak fishing – Learn the basics of kayak fishing equipment and techniques before going kayak fishing.
Hosted by Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resource District and the Nebraska Horse Trails Committee, this event is free and open to the public.
A valid Nebraska state park vehicle permit is required for entry.
