The Malai Cookbook features 100 recipes alongside personal stories and cherished flavor memories. It’s packed with Malai favorites and brand-new treats—ice cream cakes, bars, frozen pies, kulfi pops, and ice cream sandwiches—all easy to make and bursting with bold, spiced flavors.
Books will be available for purchase from our friends at Kindred Stories, a Houston bookstore born of a love for reading and a passion for community.
Chef Kiran Verma—a 2023 James Beard Award semifinalist for Best Chef: Texas—is often called the godmother of Indian fine dining. A self-taught chef inspired by her Indian heritage and love of global cuisine, she brings together culinary traditions with French sophistication and American informality at her acclaimed Houston restaurant.
