Before I Die Art Show

One night only, solo art show! Refer to Before I Die Houma’s facebook page for more info, but in June 2024, I was invited to have a solo art show at this venue. I had finished a series of acrylic paintings which were nonrepresentational, abstract “soul portraits” of people who had some type of major impactful influence (positive/negative) in my life during 2018-2020. Listening to the music that connected us while painting their pseudo-portraits on canvas, my process recalibrated my perception of who they were, along with our connections, in a visually safe space. Each individual captured and relationship evaluated, I painted what I saw and felt within them-that lasting, visceral impression. With this concept in mind and a completed body of work, I agreed to do the exhibition. I’ve created very simple, removable frames, and each piece is for sale. Please come out and show support!
