Mobility edges (MEs) play a crucial role in distinguishing extended from localized states in disordered and quasiperiodic systems. In this talk, I will present our recent work on the interplay between MEs and dissipation. By analyzing both the steady-state density matrix and the quench dynamics following the sudden onset of dissipation, we show that dissipation can dynamically steer the system toward states that are predominantly extended or localized—regardless of the initial condition. This suggests a novel mechanism for inducing localization-delocalization transitions via environmental coupling. Our results open up a new direction for using dissipation as a controllable tool to manipulate transport and dynamical behavior in quasiperiodic systems.
