‘Scattering of Light’ is a series of oil paintings that explore Alaskan landscapes and the atmospheric phenomenon that create the most dramatic light within these landscapes.

First Friday Opening Reception:

Friday, July 4th from 5-7pm

On Display at HCOA July 4th through July 28th

“My subject matter is the natural landscape that I have surrounded myself with. I use color and value to define space and strive to capture the essence of the Alaskan landscape, creating an atmosphere of vivid beauty. The images I share with the world are the moments in time that seem most fleeting. The last light on the mountains before the color is driven away or the way the reflections dance on a ripple in the water. I want the details that makes a moment unique, make an entire painting, and the viewer feel the awe of the vast landscape.” - Kayla McGrath
