Creative Writing Workshop - Make Your Characters Suffer

On July 19 from 10am to Noon, there will be a free creative writing workshop at the Summers County Public Library in Hinton. This is an in-person workshop taught by Cheryl Kula (author of Unsinkable Sam and A Different Tail). It is open for any ages (10 to 100), but be aware that we may discuss some hard topics. Workshop Description - Many writers find their stories fall flat because they create a wonderful main character and then they are reluctant to force their beloved character into difficult situations or to find a resolution to the situation. But bad decisions create good drama. Conflict creates tension which is often engaging and entertaining to your readers. Through this hands-on writing workshop, we will discuss characters and then create ways to make them suffer. Writers should walk away from this workshop with a fleshed out main character and the framework for a full story.
