The rice harvest event on Oct 5
October is the month for rice harvesting! We will harvest the rice we planted in June at Baba san's rice field.
Baba san is an organic rice farmer in Hino city, west of Tokyo. We will harvest rice with a sickle, bundle them, and set up a rice-drying rack together.
While we are harvesting, there will be a special live music performance of Ohayashi, the traditional festival music players and lion dance, to celebrate our harvest.
We will have a watercolor painting session again by Christina Lopp Schwabecher, who is a creative watercolor artist and an instructor!

Date: Sunday, October 5 (9:00-14:00)
Place: Baba san's rice field in Hino city
*About 1 hour by train / car from the center of Tokyo (you'll receive the address after registration)
*Coin parkings nearby are available.
* The closest station is Takahatafudo station (Keio line). About 8 min walk to the rice field.
Fee: 29,000 yen / family, or 12,500 yen / individual guest
*Including: Baba san's rice product to take home
*Not including: Lunch. You can either bring your own lunch or we can order a bento box from the local bento store (950 yen/ bento). It has locally harvested vegetables, meat/fish, Baba san's organic rice
