Poetry Hickory featuring Nancy Posey and Annette Sisson

Poets Nancy Posey and Annette Sisson, both of Nashville, TN, will be the featured writers at the July 8 Poetry Hickory at Taste Full Beans in downtown Hickory. Their presentation will begin at 6:15, and will be followed by an Open Mic. Posey has been a teacher for 35 years, the last 9 as a professor at Lipscomb University, where she recently earned her Doctorate of Education.
She co-hosts the Black Dog Poetry Open Mic and serves on the IBMA Songwriting Committee. She is the author of the chapbook, “Let the Lady Speak” and is currently working on a chapbook of anniversary poems and a collection of narrative poetry drawn from her life and lineage. Pushcart Prize nominee, Annette Sisson, taught at Belmont University for 37 years. She is the author of 2 collections of poetry, most recently “Winter Sharp with Apples” from Terrapin Books. Her poem, “Deep in Milkweed” was a finalist for last year’s Charles Simic Prize.
