Calling residents of the DC area! Mark your calendars for our Conservative Network Event featuring Seohyun Lee on Friday, May 9, from 11:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Clare Boothe Luce Center for Conservative Women, 112 Elden Street, Suite P, in Herndon, Virginia.
Born and educated in central Pyongyang, Seohyun Lee is a North Korean defector, human rights advocate, and YouTube creator. After witnessing the Kim Jong Un regime’s purges, she and her family defected to the U.S. in 2016. Since then, she has been a dedicated advocate for human rights—delivering a TEDx talk, briefing the UN Security Council in 2023, and receiving recognition as a Korea-Unification Opinion Leader by South Korea’s Ministry of Unification. She is a recipient of the Bush Foundation’s Lindsay Lloyd North Korea Freedom Scholarship, the Otto Warmbier Scholarship, and serves on the McCain Institute’s Global Advisory Council.
She is a remarkable testament to bravery and an inspiration for all who hear her firsthand account of how she escaped North Korea’s oppressive regime. We are so honored to host her at our Center!
The event is free for students and members. For non-members, your $10 ($25 at the door) registration fee includes access to the event and a delicious lunch. For registration and to learn more about membership options please visit our website at cblwomen.org/event/
