with Halima Jewel
at Kilpeck Village Hall
from 10.30am – 4.30pm on Saturday 28th June
Sufi whirling is a practice of remembrance. It is a way of connecting us to the eternal source of love. Once taught only to initiates, today the practice is open in an inclusive way to all who are sincere.
In this workshop you will learn several ways to whirl and will have the opportunity to whirl together, supported by live music, for an extended period of time. You will be held in a safe and sacred way. Everyone is welcome and no previous experience is needed. You will be encouraged to participate or rest as much as is right for you. There will also be some Sufi dhikr dances to start and end the day.
Halima Jewel is a student and friend on the path of Sufism. Her whirling style of teaching springs up from Turkey, where she is connected to a living teacher and vibrant community.
