Welcome to the Unspoken Words Poetry Club on 20th September in Helsinki, for a grand session with live music and spoken word, and the launch of a long-awaited and historic work of translation!
The evening, organized by Enostone Publishing, invites all poetry-minded folks to celebrate live culture, human rights, and the life and works of poet Arto Melleri (1956-2005).
The brand new collection "Unspoken Words: Selected Poems of Arto Melleri", by long-standing translator, cultural orgaziner, and spoken word poet Kasper Salonen, is a world first as a wide-ranging anthology of Melleri's work in English. The book will be officially available to purchase at the event, with excerpts, interviews, and performances throughout the magical night.
The club features Kasper Salonen, rapper and activist Paleface, publisher and poet Kalle Niinikangas, multi-musician Masi Hukari, and other poets to be confirmed.
There will also be a curated open mic portion! Five-minute sets focusing on or gaining inspiration from Arto Melleri's work are especially welcome, in all languages. Sign-up and open mic suggestions:

The Unspoken Words Poetry Club will feature live stage content mainly in English, but with hosting, interviews, and performances planned and welcomed in Finnish as well. The event and all participants stand in full solidarity with Palestine and all other oppressed peoples, against genocides and fascist regimes everywhere in the world.
Welcome to Bar tÿpo of the House of Text (Tekstin talo, Lintulahdenkatu 3, Helsinki) on Saturday, 20th September from 6 pm to about 9 pm. The event is free of charge.

the confusion of the Tongues of Babel,
literally,
the nations are wandering, new constellations
are born in the heavens,
the dancers switch places in the Polonaise of the Eons... >>
