Brittiläinen Martin Jenkins eli Pye Corner Audio saapuu tammikuussa Suomeen. Elokuvallista ja hypnoottista elektronista musiikkia esittävä artisti esiintyy Helsingin G Livelabissa torstaina 22. tammikuuta. Konsertin lipunmyynti on nyt käynnissä Tiketissä ja G Livelabin omilla sivuilla.
Kentistä kotoisin olevan Jenkinsin musiikissa yhdistyvät tummasävyinen hypnoottinen tekno, scifi-henkinen estetiikka sekä 70- ja 80-lukujen hauntologinen tunnelma. Artistin läpimurto tapahtui jo vuosien 2010–2013 välillä julkaistun Black Mill Tapes Vol.1-4 -albumisarjan myötä ja sittemmin hän on julkaissut Pye Corner Audio -nimellä seitsemän studioalbumia mm. alan arvostetuilla levymerkeillä kuten Lapsus, Sonic Cathedral , Death Waltz sekä Ghost Box (mm. Broadcast, The Advisory Circle, The Focus Group). Taiteilijan viimeisin, toukokuussa julkaistu Lake Deep Memory sai inspiraationsa esiintymisestä Guatemalassa Atitlan-järvellä ja se jatkaa matkaa äänen ja muistojen maailmassa tunnelmissa, joissa rauhallinen ambient, synkähkö tekno ja haalistunut futurismi kohtaavat luoden meditatiivisen kuuntelukokemuksen.
Uransa aikana Jenkins on myös tehnyt yhteistyötä mm. Mogwain, Oasis- ja Ride-yhtyeistä tutun Andy Bellin, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smithin sekä Alessandro Cortinin kanssa. Edellisen kerran Jenkins esiintyi Suomessa vuoden 2022 Sideways-festivaalilla.

British Martin Jenkins, aka Pye Corner Audio, will be coming to Finland in January. The artist, who plays cinematic and hypnotic electronic music, will perform at G Livelab in Helsinki on Thursday, January 22. Ticket sales for the concert are now open at Tiketti and on G Livelab's own website.
Jenkins, who hails from Kent, combines dark, hypnotic techno with a sci-fi aesthetic and the hauntological atmosphere of the 70s and 80s. The artist's breakthrough came with the Black Mill Tapes Vol.1-4 album series released between 2010 and 2013, and since then he has released seven studio albums under the name Pye Corner Audio on, among others, prestigious labels in the industry such as Lapsus, Sonic Cathedral, Death Waltz and Ghost Box (including Broadcast, The Advisory Circle, The Focus Group). The artist's latest, Lake Deep Memory, released in May, was inspired by a performance at Lake Atitlan in Guatemala and continues its journey through the world of sound and memories in a mood where calm ambient, dark techno and faded futurism meet to create a meditative listening experience.
During his career, Jenkins has also collaborated with, among others, Mogwai, Andy Bell of Oasis and Ride, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith and Alessandro Cortini. Jenkins last performed in Finland at the 2022 Sideways Festival.
The concert is open to all ages.
